How to Get More Good Vibes

How do we get more good vibes and increase positive energy in your body?

Some people seem to just have it. We gravitate towards them without knowing why. All we know is that our bodies and nervous systems tell us that they feel good to us and that we should spend time with them.

And while it may feel like some people naturally and effortlessly embody this positive energy, there are certainly actions we can take and things we can be mindful of to increase our feel-good state and upgrade our own vibes.

Here are 11 ways you can increase the good vibes:

1. Strive for positivity

Being mindful of our thoughts and having a positive outlook on life is very important to our happiness and well being. When you experience a challenging situation in life or encounter people with negative energy, center yourself. Stay calm and see if you can reframe the situation that is occurring.

You can ask yourself these questions:

  • Can this challenging situation I’m experiencing right now actually be a gift in disguise?
  • What can I learn about myself from my encounter with this person?

This kind of positive reframing of our life story can guide us deeper into ourselves. As well as have a profound effect on how we look at things, and as Dr. Wayne Dyer so beautifully expresses: When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

2. Let yourself have a bad day

However, this doesn’t mean that we should never complain or allow ourselves to have a bad day. While it is true that what we consistently think about and focus on will expand, it is also true that it’s very counterproductive to attempt to suppress negative emotions or ignore unhealed wounds in our psyche that demand our attention.

Acknowledging all of our emotional pain and allowing it to exist is very important. We need to feel it, let it move through us like a wave.  Let it be energy in motion –  and then let it leave on its own. This doesn’t mean, however, that we should feed into it, becoming a victim of it and letting it control our reality. It’s about self-acceptance and self-compassion and ultimately about recognizing that all emotions. even the challenging ones are part of the human experience. 

3. Your tribe makes your vibe

You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with, said motivational speaker Jim Rohn many years ago. We will eventually align with the energy that we spend time in, which means that it is important that we have a tribe supports our good vibe. Having fulfilling relationships in our lives as well as learning how to protect our energy from toxic people is extremely important to our health and well being.

4. Be Your Own Friend

We humans – and especially us women have a tendency to be our own worst enemy. It is very important that we treat ourselves with the same kindness and compassion as we would with another loved one. People who have the best vibes are loving, compassionate and generous people because they treat themselves that way as well.

5. Pimp your environment

If our environment feels chaotic and uninviting it will affect our feeling state.

Give your house, office or apartment a new great vibe by throwing out old energy, bringing in something new or adding some color! If you crave a calm mind maybe you will choose to paint one of your walls light blue. If you want something exciting and uplifting you may want to go with some orange furniture. Decorate your home in a way that feels good to you have fun with it!

6. Have fun

When we are full of joy and excitement we can’t help but have good vibes. Joy is a very high frequency state of being that we should tap into as often as we can. Ask yourself: How can I experience more joy in my life? Write down what’s coming up and start taking action on it.

7. Movement

This is a big one. Movement has the great potential to change a bad day into a good one and to immediately make us feel happier and more alive. To embody positive energy, we need to be more in our bodies. Being on the move is one of the best ways to establish the mind-body connection needed for us be fully present in our bodies.

The key to reaping the most benefits from movement is to choose what a form of exercise you enjoy doing. When we are enjoying it, you will be doing it consistently and looking forward to it instead of thinking of it as a punishment.

Movement encourages old energy to move out of the body and can in that way be a powerful catalyst for healing. Consistent exercise will also increase your baseline feeling of happiness and health. So, get up and move!

8. Small acts of kindness

What we give out will always come back to us. Doing something for someone else without expecting anything in return is incredibly nourishing to our souls. Whether it means that you are giving a stranger a compliment or holding the door for them on the way out from the grocery store. Or even just stopping for a second during your busy day to give them a smile, it will make their day better and it will definitely up-level your vibe. 

9. Find good Soundwaves

Music is extremely powerful and another highly effective feel-good tool. Putting on your favorite songs and dance along with it will make you feel better in an instant. Choose music that feels uplifting, life-affirming and songs that have lyrics that give you a boost of energy. Feel into it.

How does the song feel in your body when you play it? Do you want to get up and dance or do you feel sad when you listen to it? Pay attention to your body here and let it be your guide when you create your good-vibe playlist!

10. Find inspiration

Finding great quotes that resonate with our own journey can help tremendously in moments of discomfort when we feel stuck or have a lack of motivation. Hang them around your house or put them as a screensaver on your phone to remind yourself of how awesome you are.

Listening to podcast interviews with great people whose vibe you like can be a gateway to inspired action in our own life. Hearing other people’s stories and how they overcame adversity and became who they are today makes us want to explore our own potential. 

11. Show who you are

We all recognize and value people who are real and honest with us and themselves. Our very best energy is rooted in authenticity, and when we are speaking our truth and allow ourselves to be seen and vulnerable. Even when it feels uncomfortable, we are performing an act of love that others can feel deeply at the core of their being.

So how do we get naturally good vibes? Well, ultimately our vibe is made up of our feelings and our intentions, so when we are feeling great about our life, when we are acting from a place of love when our intentions are pure and we are being of service in the world, we will naturally and effortlessly have good vibes.
