Our brains are so powerful that while we’re busy working physically, it works in the background helping us plan our day, our week, even our entire month!
This power shines through in our thoughts and how they can instantly affect our mood, our mindset, and our lives. That is why it’s important to always be changing negative thoughts to positive ones.
Our Thoughts Dictate Our Outlook
I’ve seen some research on the subject of human thought patterns, and did you know that the average adult human being has 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts a day and that 98% of those thoughts are repetitive and reoccur every day? That’s a whole lot of thinking of basically the same things — over and over and over again! This kind of repetitive thinking is what establishes our beliefs. These recurring thoughts get reinforced over time and affect our opinions about ourselves and the world that we live in.
These same studies state that 80% of the thoughts we think are negative thoughts. Now, imagine all those thoughts multiplied by the billions and millions of people around the world — that’s plenty of negative thoughts to go around for anybody’s lifetime. Whether our inner dialogue is directed toward ourselves or toward others, our thoughts dictate our outlook.
Negative thoughts directed toward ourselves could affect our self-esteem and lead us to undervalue ourselves, and in turn, it can affect how we act in our lives. It draws the line between what we are willing to do and how far we are willing to go to achieve great heights for ourselves. If we continue the negative inner dialogue that we are used to having, they will become powerful enough to affect our actions. We may start to believe we’re not good enough and that we don’t deserve good things. This will lead to fear, and fear can demotivate us from trying anything that could possibly lead us to better ourselves or our circumstances.
Start Changing Negative Thoughts To Positive
So, how do we control negative thoughts, or even better, how do we overcome negative thoughts? Imagine if we took that 80% and started changing negative thoughts into positive instead. How much better would that be for everyone? Instead of spending hours talking ourselves out of doing something, we’d be able to drive ourselves into executing our plans and achieving our goals. There would be no doubt, no fear, and no sadness! We would be able to lift ourselves up instead of putting ourselves in a rut. We’d be able to find inspiration within ourselves and not need any from external sources. We’d be more self-reliant and productive, and be able to share positive vibrations with others.
Human beings can be stubborn when it comes to our ideas and opinions. Just the fact that 98% of our daily thoughts are recurring proves that we aren’t big on changing what we think about. We like to circle around those same thoughts and ideas over and over, and they get reinforced in our minds. If you think about it, we can form really strong thoughts this way! If we chose to be stubborn about the positive things instead of the negative, the differences in our personal outlooks would be so different.
Questions About Your Thoughts
This week, I’d like you to think about your thoughts. Try to figure out:
- Which thoughts keep you up at night? You can write these down if that can help you keep track of them better.
- What do you spend the most time thinking about throughout your day?
- Do you have a recurring self-dialogue?
- Is your self-dialogue hurtful or helpful? Is it affecting your view of yourself? Has it affected your decision-making, your motivation, how you have been living your life in general?
If you’ve answered yes to even one on the above checklist, then it could be a great time to find a manifesting coach and make changes to your thought process that will result in changing negative thoughts to positive ones. If you stick to what you’ve always done, then you’ll always get the same results. On the other hand, if you take a risk and try something new, you might be surprised by the results, and you might even gain some new experiences along the way.
Be More Aware Of Your Thoughts
Together, let’s be more aware of our thoughts. Here is a step-by-step plan on:
-
-
- How to identify if your thought process is negative and hurtful.
- How to be aware that you are having a negative thought process.
- Shifting from a negative thought process to a positive one.
- Preventing yourself from having negative thoughts again in the future.
- How you can become an inspirational positive force in the life of other people.
