Super Duper Strawberry Chocolate Milkshake
Who doesn’t feel like they sometimes need something a little bit chocolatey? With our delicious and healthy Super Duper Strawberry Chocolate Milkshake, you can indulge your cravings in a positive way.
Strawberries have long been the perfect partner of chocolate. They provide a sweet balance that counteracts the occasional bitterness of raw cocoa or cacao powder. This combination makes for an overall original chocolate sweetness without the sticky aftertaste of less nutritionally-rich options.
This chocolate strawberry milkshake is an excellent source of vitamin C, folate, and potassium. It’s a great combination for people with essential nutritional needs or additional system demands, such as pregnant women or those who intend to get pregnant. In addition, strawberries contain iron, copper, phosphorus, B6, vitamin K, and powerful antioxidant vitamin E which is credited for slowing down aging. Who knew a milkshake could be this good!
As we usually do, our milkshake is vegan and vegetarian friendly, with unsweetened almond milk providing the base for this creamy drink.
Now we get to the star of the drink – the cacao powder, which has a phenomenal nutrient profile. Did you know that cacao powder has 40 times more antioxidants than even vitamin rich blueberries? In addition, it has been credited with being a mood booster as well as an anti-depressant. The highest plant-based source of iron, you’d be foolish to indulge in anything other than cacao to satisfy your cravings for something sweet.
If you’d like to increase the sweetness in a natural way, add pure maple syrup or stevia to your desired taste. To make it even more delicious, sprinkle with shredded coconut or cacao nibs for an extra hit of flavor. More than just a milkshake!
