Healthy Chocolate Banana Milkshake With Protein and Vitamins
There’s nothing quite like a long, slow sip of a cool chocolate milkshake – especially on a hot summer day. It’s a creamy, sweet spoonful of childhood nostalgia. This treat is an obvious favorite that is quick and easy to whip up, and it’s a great alternative for vegans, the lactose-intolerant, and others who have issues with regular milks. Full of protein and tons of vitamins and minerals, it will tackle sweet cravings while cooling you off, and boy, is it delicious!
The Chocolate Banana Milkshake is so good, in fact, you may be surprised to learn that this refreshment is high in:
- vitamin B6,
- vitamin C,
- and magnesium.
The best part about the shake is its sneaky way of packing in a protein punch with a generous scoop of Quality Pea Protein Powder. Remember your mom lovingly hiding veggies in your meals to make sure you got all of your nutrients? This is a more delicious way to fit in those extra proteins and nutrients, though the vanilla flavor definitely adds to the taste.
In addition, the shake raises your vibration with high-frequency foods such as bananas and cinnamon. Bananas are rich in vitamins and provide you with essential potassium, and cinnamon is a great anti-inflammatory food.
Meanwhile, unsweetened almond milk supports the immune system, is a known cancer preventative, helps the bones, and does wonders on the skin.
Chocolate is also a wonder in its natural state; reducing inflammation and causing the brain to release endorphins (the feel-good hormones). What’s not to love? Turns out you can have your shake and eat it, too!
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp. raw cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. or so of cinnamon
- 1 scoop of Quality Pea Protein Powder
- Place everything in blender, blend until combined.
The rich chocolate, creamy banana, and spicy cinnamon will make your taste buds sing and offer you the added benefit of raising your frequency. Aside from indulging on a hot day, I absolutely love this recipe as an after-dinner dessert. You can make it extra thick, adding some extra banana and eating it with a spoon, or you can opt for a perfect shake consistency and use a straw. Either way, it is super simple to make and sure to be a crowd pleaser!
